Internal Interview Thank You Email
If you want to create a longstanding impression after an interview, then sending a sincere and enthusiastic post interview email is a must. This is even more important when interviewing for an internal position, within a company that you are already employed at. The thank you email after an internal interview is extremely important to ensure that professionalism and cordiality is maintained.
The reason is that you have a much higher chance of seeing or running into the interviewer after the interview. You want to convey in your email that there are and will not be any hard feelings if they choose to go with another candidate.
As soon as you leave an in-person interview, you should follow-up with an enthusiastic, sincere, and compelling email.
The post-interview email should be short-and-sweet. You shouldn’t ramble on and it should be concise and quick enough that the interviewer can read it quickly. It does not need to be lengthy to get your point across effectively.
You should also keep it professional. Although you both work for the same company, you don’t want to joke around with the hiring manager via email. Jokes may be taken incorrectly and could potentially cost you the job opportunity.
Keep it professional and focus on the details discussed during the interview.
Lastly, address the fact that you both work for the same company. You should convey to the interviewer that you thoroughly enjoy your time at the company and that you look forward to the many more years there to come.
