What’s on the RMA cheat sheet

  • Clinical Medical Assisting (55%) infection control and the chain of infection, order of draw and tube colors, vital-sign ranges, physical-exam positions, 12-lead EKG, injection angles, pharmacology and dosage math, and first aid/CPR — the largest area, ~115 items.
  • General Medical Assisting (31%) body systems and anatomy, medical terminology word parts, medical law and ethics including HIPAA and scope of practice, consent types, and human relations — ~65 items.
  • Administrative Medical Assisting (14%) ICD-10-CM vs CPT vs HCPCS coding, the EOB and CMS-1500, prior authorization, and clerical duties including scheduling, records, and the SOAP note — ~30 items.

How to use it in your final week

  • Front-load Clinical Medical Assisting — it's 55% of the exam (115 of 210 items). If you drill one section of the sheet to reflex, make it order of draw, standard precautions, vital-sign ranges, and injection angles.
  • Turn the memory hooks into automatic recall: injection angles 15° / 45° / 90°, adult vitals (pulse 60–100, resp 12–20, BP <120/80), and the CLSI draw order (culture → light blue → serum/SST → green → lavender → gray).
  • Read the whole sheet the morning of the exam for a final pass on General and Administrative facts — HIPAA and scope of practice, ICD-10 vs CPT vs HCPCS, and the SOAP note.
  • Don't cram in isolation — pair each review pass with a short timed practice set (210 questions in 120 minutes ≈ 34 seconds each) so your pacing stays sharp.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your RMA practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
