Career Employer

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy describes what information careeremployer.com (“Career Employer,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use the site, and how it's used. The site is operated by Authority Group LLC.

The short version: you can use everything without an account, and your detailed study progress is stored on your own device. We do use analytics and advertising cookies, including pixels from advertising platforms, and we describe exactly what those collect below.

No accounts required

You can use the practice tests, study guides, and flashcards without creating an account or providing an email address. We do not collect names or registration data through normal use of the site.

The one exception is the downloadable cheat sheets: if you request one, we ask for your email address so we can deliver it. We use that address to send your cheat sheet and occasional study emails, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your email address. We may share a hashed (irreversible) version of it with advertising platforms to match you to an existing account so we can show you relevant ads or exclude you from them — see Advertising and retargeting below.

Your study progress stays on your device

Detailed study data — which questions you answered, your flashcard scores, your review queue, and module checkpoints — is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. We never receive that detail, and clearing your browser data removes it.

We do receive summary events about your activity, which are sent to our analytics and advertising partners. These include: which exam you are studying, whether you started or completed a practice test, your score band on a completed test, your running accuracy once you have answered enough questions, your weakest domain, whether you downloaded a cheat sheet, and — if you choose to tell us — how far away your exam date is. These events are tied to an advertising identifier rather than to your name.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and may be used by Google to link activity across sites and apps. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and aggregate, to measure page performance.

Advertising and retargeting

We advertise our premium study products, and we use advertising pixels and tags on this site so those ads reach people who are actually studying for an exam. These technologies do set cookies and can be used to recognize you on other websites and apps.

The platforms we use, or are in the process of adding, are:

Some of this information is sent from your browser, and some is sent directly from our serversto those platforms (for example, Meta's Conversions API). Server-side sending happens even if your browser blocks the pixel, and it may include your IP address, browser user-agent, an advertising identifier, and a hashed email address where we have one.

We use this to build advertising audiences — for example, people studying for a particular exam, or people whose exam is coming up soon — and to measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. Each platform handles the data it receives under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Some pages also contain affiliate links (including Amazon Associates) and may display ads served by third-party networks. See how we make money for full disclosure of these relationships.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA — and under similar laws in other states — using advertising cookies to show you ads on other sites is treated as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. By that definition, we share personal information, and you have the right to opt out.

To opt out, you can do any of the following:

Opting out does not stop you from using anything on this site. Everything here stays free either way.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

If you email us

If you contact us (questions, error reports), we keep the correspondence to respond and improve the site. We don't add you to marketing lists or share your address.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU and UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, and comparable laws in other US states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to opt out of targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

To make a request, email info@careeremployer.com. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.

How long we keep information

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months. Advertising audience membership expires on each platform's own schedule, typically between 90 and 180 days after your last visit.

Children

The site is intended for users preparing for professional exams and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
