What’s on the Kaplan Nursing Entrance cheat sheet

  • Reading (22 Qs / 45 min) main idea vs. supporting detail vs. inference, author's purpose and tone, and vocabulary-in-context — answer only from the passage.
  • Writing (21 Qs / 45 min) subject-verb agreement, fragments, run-ons and comma splices, parallelism, and the most-tested confusable words (affect/effect, its/it's, than/then).
  • Math (28 Qs / 45 min) the largest section: PEMDAS, fraction-decimal-percent conversions, ratios and proportions by cross-multiplication, and key metric equivalents — worked without a calculator.
  • Science (20 Qs / 30 min) anatomy and physiology (heart blood flow, LAB RAT valves), cell organelles, mitosis vs. meiosis, ionic vs. covalent bonds, and the 0-14 pH scale.

How to use it in your final week

  • Print it and keep it next to your practice questions — skim one section's block, then immediately drill that section so the facts stick under a timer.
  • Front-load Math and Science — Math is the largest section (28 questions) and Science packs the most breadth, so they move your composite the most.
  • Do a morning-of pass on the pure-recall items: PEMDAS order, the fraction-decimal-percent table, 1 kg = 2.2 lb and 1 in = 2.54 cm, and LAB RAT for the heart valves.
  • Never cram the sheet in isolation — pair each review block with section-timed KNAT questions so the four separate clocks feel routine on test day.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your Kaplan Nursing Entrance practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
