What’s on the Praxis Core cheat sheet

  • Reading (5713) 56 questions, 85 min — main idea and supporting details, inference, vocabulary in context, text structure, and evaluating arguments and paired sources.
  • Writing (5723) 40 selected-response + 2 essays, 100 min — grammar, usage, punctuation, and research skills, plus the argumentative and source-based essay setups.
  • Mathematics (5733) 56 questions, 90 min — number and quantity (~36%), algebra and functions (~24%), statistics and probability (~24%), and geometry (~16%), with an on-screen calculator.
  • Scoring & cut scores the 100–200 scale, ETS qualifying scores of 156 / 162 / 150, and the reminder that each subtest is passed on its own.

How to use it in your final week

  • Cram the subtest you're sitting next, not all three at once — each Praxis Core subtest is scored and passed on its own, so put your final-week hours where the next appointment is.
  • For Math, drill the memory hooks: percent = decimal × number, slope = rise/run, area of a triangle = ½ base × height, and a² + b² = c² — the on-screen calculator won't set the problem up for you.
  • For Writing, run the grammar checklist — subject-verb agreement, verb tense, pronoun clarity, comma splices — then rehearse the two essays: one argumentative, one source-based that must cite both passages.
  • Read the sheet the morning of the test, then take one short timed set from the practice test to warm up your pacing before you walk in.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your Praxis Core practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
