What’s on the CTP cheat sheet
- Maintaining corporate liquidity (~34%) — working capital and the cash conversion cycle, collections and concentration, disbursements and float, payment systems, and short-term investing and borrowing — the largest block.
- Capital structure & long-term capital (~21%) — the cost of capital (WACC), capital budgeting with NPV and IRR, raising capital, and payout policy — the most computational area.
- Monitoring & controlling risk (~15%) — enterprise risk management, FX and interest-rate exposures and hedges, payments-fraud controls, and regulatory and operational risk.
- Treasury technology (~15%) — treasury management systems and the ERP, bank connectivity, ISO 20022 and BAI2 data standards, and security and emerging tools.
- Internal & external relationships (~9%) — bank relationship management, account analysis and the earnings credit rate, and accounting and governance fundamentals — the smallest block.
How to use it in your final week
- Front-load liquidity: it's roughly a third of the exam. If you master one block from the sheet, make it the cash conversion cycle, cash concentration, and the money-market instruments.
- Drill the four formulas until they're automatic — CCC = DIO + DSO − DPO, WACC, NPV, and IRR — because about 10 to 15 percent of questions are computational and an on-screen calculator is your only aid.
- Memorize the payment-rail contrasts: Fedwire is gross and final, CHIPS nets large international dollar payments, ACH is cheap and batched, RTP and FedNow settle instantly, and SWIFT only carries messages.
- Read the sheet the morning of the test for a final pass on the memory hooks, then simulate the 3.5-hour clock with a timed practice set so the long appointment feels routine.
The cheat sheet is your review layer — your CTP practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
CTP cheat sheet FAQ
Yes — the CTP cheat sheet is 100% free to download as a PDF, with no sign-up required. It sits alongside Career Employer's free CTP toolkit: the practice test, study guide, and flashcards, so you can review the sheet and immediately test what stuck.
It condenses the highest-yield facts from the AFP body of knowledge into a fast reference: the cash conversion cycle and money-market instruments, WACC, NPV and IRR, payment rails (Fedwire, ACH, CHIPS, RTP), FX and interest-rate hedges, and the treasury technology stack — grouped by the five performance domains AFP weights the exam around.
No — the sheet is a review and last-week cram layer, not a full course. You need a scaled score of 300 on the 200-500 scale to pass, and roughly 10 to 15 percent of the exam is calculation, so use the sheet to lock in facts and formulas, then build readiness by working timed practice questions across every domain.
It's built from AFP's current CTP test specifications and Essentials of Treasury Management, 8th Edition, and we review it against AFP's published exam materials regularly. Fees and policies change, so verify the current numbers at financialprofessionals.org before you apply.
Click the download button (or the preview card) at the top of this page to open the PDF instantly — no email, no account. Bookmark this page so you can find it again for a final pass the morning of your exam.
