What’s on the ABIM cheat sheet

  • Cardiovascular Disease (14%) the single largest category — ACS and reperfusion, heart failure pillars, arrhythmias, valve murmurs, and hypertension.
  • Pulmonary & Critical Care (9%) asthma vs COPD reversibility, PE workup, Light's criteria, ARDS, and the sepsis bundle.
  • Gastroenterology & Hepatology (9%) GERD alarm features, IBD (UC vs Crohn), pancreatitis criteria, and cirrhosis complications.
  • Infectious Disease (9%) syndrome-based empiric therapy, endocarditis Duke criteria, HIV/TB regimens, and stewardship.
  • Rheumatology & Endocrine (9% each) RA, lupus, gout and vasculitis, plus diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, and acid–base/electrolytes.
  • Heme, Onc, Nephro & the rest (6% and below) anemias and coagulation, oncologic emergencies, AKI/CKD, and neuro, psych, derm, and biostatistics.

How to use it in your final week

  • Front-load the big six systems — Cardiovascular (14%), Pulmonary, GI, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, and Endocrinology (9% each). Together they are over half the exam, so master these blocks on the sheet first.
  • Drill the reflex answers: STEMI equals emergent reperfusion (primary PCI within 90 minutes), HFrEF equals the four pillars, and a sepsis bundle means cultures plus antibiotics within an hour.
  • Read the sheet the morning of your test for one final pass on the memory hooks — Light's criteria, CHA₂DS₂-VASc thresholds, the anion-gap (MUDPILES) causes, and Duke criteria for endocarditis.
  • Pair each review pass with a short timed block (about two minutes per question) so your pacing across four sessions and roughly 10 hours feels routine on exam day.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your ABIM practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
