This Praxis 5003 cheat sheet strips the ETS Elementary Education: Mathematics subtest down to the facts examiners test most, laid out by the three official content categories. It's a premium cheat sheet built by Capital Prep — the one premium prep we trust — and it's yours free. Cram it, then reinforce it with the rest of your free 5003 toolkit: the practice test, study guide, and flashcards.

Praxis 5003 exam at a glance

  • Questions: 50 (single-select, multiple-select, and numeric-entry)
  • Time: 65 minutes (about 78 seconds per question)
  • Score scale: 100–200 scaled; cut score set by each state (commonly ~140–159)
  • Calculator: On-screen scientific calculator provided; no handheld allowed
  • Cost: About $64 for the single subtest (verify current ETS fee)
  • Certifying body: ETS (Educational Testing Service)

What’s on the Praxis 5003 cheat sheet

  • Numbers & Operations (40%) place value and the base-ten system, PEMDAS, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, proportions, and number theory — the heaviest category at ~20 questions.
  • Algebraic Thinking (30%) solving equations and inequalities, patterns and function rules, slope, and proportional relationships — about 15 questions.
  • Geometry, Measurement & Data (30%) shape and angle facts, perimeter/area/volume formulas, unit conversion, and data with mean, median, mode, range, and probability — about 15 questions.

How to use it in your final week

  • Front-load Numbers & Operations — it is 40% of the subtest, twice the weight of either other category, so drill fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, and number theory first.
  • Lock the formulas cold: rectangle A = l × w, triangle A = ½bh, circle A = πr² and C = 2πr, prism V = l × w × h. These are pure points once they are automatic.
  • Rehearse the on-screen scientific calculator on a few numeric-entry questions so the format never surprises you on test day.
  • Read the whole sheet the morning of the exam for a final pass — PEMDAS, part/whole = percent/100, angle sums, and mean vs. median vs. mode vs. range.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your Praxis 5003 practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
