This NAPLEX cheat sheet strips the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination down to the facts examiners reward most, organized to NABP's five content domains. It's a premium cheat sheet built by Capital Prep — the one premium prep we trust — and it's yours free. Reinforce it with the rest of your free NAPLEX toolkit: the practice test, study guide, and flashcards.

NAPLEX exam at a glance

  • Questions: 225 total (200 scored + 25 unscored pretest)
  • Time: 6 hours, computer-based at Pearson VUE
  • Passing score: Pass/fail — scaled score of 75 on a 0-150 scale
  • Cost: About $575 per attempt; verify in the NABP Candidate Application Bulletin

What’s on the NAPLEX cheat sheet

  • Foundational Knowledge (25%) pharmacokinetics vs pharmacodynamics, first- vs zero-order elimination, CYP450 inhibitors and inducers, compounding (USP 795/797/800), and core calculations like Cockcroft-Gault.
  • Medication Use Process (25%) order interpretation, controlled-substance schedules and refills, generic vs interchangeable-biosimilar substitution, immunizations, and storage and stability rules.
  • Person-Centered Assessment & Treatment Planning (40%) the largest domain — appropriateness of therapy, the highest-yield interactions, narrow-therapeutic-index monitoring, antidotes, and patient counseling.
  • Professional Practice (5%) MedWatch vs VAERS reporting, antimicrobial and opioid stewardship, social determinants of health, and the four ethics principles.
  • Pharmacy Management & Leadership (5%) quality tools (MUE, root-cause analysis, FMEA, PDSA), formulary and P&T committees, high-alert medications, and preceptorship.

How to use it in your final week

  • Front-load Person-Centered Assessment and Treatment Planning — it is 40% of the exam, so if one domain gets your last-week attention, make it this one.
  • Drill the memory hooks that always appear: CYP inhibitors raise levels (toxicity) while inducers lower them (failure), and the flip for prodrugs like clopidogrel.
  • Rehearse the antidote and monitoring rows out loud — acetaminophen to N-acetylcysteine, opioids to naloxone, warfarin monitored by INR (2-3), lithium and digoxin levels.
  • Pair each review pass with a short timed set so 225 questions over 6 hours feels routine, then read the sheet once more the morning of the exam.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your NAPLEX practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
