What’s on the GACE cheat sheet
- Reading — Test I (210) — 56 questions in 85 minutes: main idea and supporting details, inference, author's purpose and tone, context clues, and evaluating claims versus evidence.
- Mathematics — Test II (211) — 56 questions in 90 minutes: number and quantity, algebra and functions, geometry, and statistics and probability — the formula-heavy, most-failed test.
- Writing — Test III (212) — 40 questions plus 2 essays in 100 minutes: standard English conventions, revision and concision, and the argumentative-versus-informative essay tasks.
- Scoring & certification — The scaled-250-per-test rule, the 750 combined-total path, keep-your-passes retakes, and where the Educator Ethics assessment fits after admission.
How to use it in your final week
- Front-load Mathematics (211) — it's the most-failed test. Drill the sheet's formula block: percent = decimal × number, slope = rise/run, triangle area = ½ · base · height, and a² + b² = c².
- Lock in the passing rule both ways — a scaled 250 on each test, OR a combined total of at least 750 across Reading, Math, and Writing — so you know exactly what you're aiming for.
- Memorize the Writing essay split from the sheet: prompt verbs like 'take a position' or 'argue' mean an argumentative essay; 'explain' or 'inform' means an informative one — answering the wrong task tanks your focus score.
- Pair each review pass with a timed practice set on that test's own clock — 85 minutes Reading, 90 Mathematics, 100 Writing — so pacing feels routine before test day.
The cheat sheet is your review layer — your GACE practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
GACE cheat sheet FAQ
Yes — the GACE cheat sheet downloads as a PDF with no sign-up and no account. It sits alongside Career Employer's free GACE toolkit: the practice test, study guide, and flashcards, all covering the Program Admission Reading, Math, and Writing tests.
It condenses the three Program Admission tests into a quick reference: Reading (210) comprehension and inference cues, Mathematics (211) formulas for percents, slope, area, and the measures of center, and Writing (212) grammar rules plus the argumentative-versus-informative essay split. Each block is tagged to its scored test so you review the way the assessment is built.
You need a scaled score of 250 on each of the three tests — Reading (210), Mathematics (211), and Writing (212). Since July 1, 2021, GaPSC also accepts a combined total of at least 750 across all three, so a strong test can offset a slightly weak one. The sheet keeps both passing paths in front of you.
It's built from the current GACE Program Admission Test at a Glance and the GaPSC scoring rules, and we review it against the official ETS materials regularly. Fees change periodically, so confirm the current registration cost on the official GACE site before you book.
Click the download button or the preview card at the top of this page to open the PDF instantly — no email required. Bookmark the page so you can pull the sheet back up during your final review week before test day.
