This CRC cheat sheet distills the CRCC's Certified Rehabilitation Counselor exam into a printable rundown of the facts examiners test most across all 12 knowledge domains. It's a premium cheat sheet built by Capital Prep — the one premium prep we trust — and it's yours free. Reinforce it with the rest of your free CRC toolkit: the practice test, study guide, and flashcards.

CRC exam at a glance

  • Questions: 175 multiple-choice (150 scored + 25 unscored field-test)
  • Time: 210 minutes (3.5 hours); plan about 4 hours on site
  • Scoring: Conjunctive — a Counseling part and a Rehabilitation/Disability part; you must pass both in one sitting (CRCC publishes no numeric cut score)
  • Cost: $410 application + exam fee ($100 refunded if deemed ineligible); $200 re-exam fee
  • Administered by: CRCC, computer-based at a Pearson VUE test center

What’s on the CRC cheat sheet

  • Counseling Theories & EBP (11.3%) person-centered core conditions, CBT and REBT, motivational interviewing, and the stages of change — the single heaviest domain.
  • Professional Orientation & Ethics (10.7%) the six 2017 CRCC principles, confidentiality limits, dual relationships, and the laws that shape the field.
  • Assessment & Occupational Analysis (10.7%) reliability vs. validity, residual functional capacity, O*NET, and transferable skills analysis.
  • Case Management (10.0%) the rehabilitation process, the Individualized Plan for Employment, and service coordination through closure.
  • Medical, Career, Crisis & Systems (rest of the 12) disability management and return-to-work, career theories, crisis and trauma response, community resources, and business engagement.

How to use it in your final week

  • Memorize the six 2017 CRCC ethical principles cold — autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, fidelity, veracity — plus the three limits on confidentiality; ethics is answerable once you know the rule.
  • Split your remaining time by the two scoring parts, not by favorite topic: give equal reps to the Counseling side (theories, ethics, groups) and the Rehabilitation/Disability side (medical, disability management, placement).
  • Drill the theory-to-founder pairings the morning of the test — Rogers's core conditions, Ellis's ABC, Holland's RIASEC, and the Theory of Work Adjustment (satisfaction plus satisfactoriness).
  • Pair each review pass with a short timed practice set (roughly 72 seconds per question) so your pacing for 175 items in 210 minutes stays automatic.

The cheat sheet is your review layer — your CRC practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
