What’s on the AEMT cheat sheet
- Clinical Judgment (31-35%) — the largest domain — recognizing cues, forming a hypothesis, taking the highest-priority action within scope, and reassessing.
- Medical, Obstetrics & Gynecology (25-29%) — diabetic and allergic emergencies, stroke and seizure, toxicology, behavioral, and childbirth — the second-largest domain.
- Cardiology & Resuscitation (11-15%) — acute coronary syndromes, high-quality CPR, the AED, and the chain of survival.
- Airway, Respiration & Ventilation (9-13%) — oxygen delivery, BVM and basic airways, supraglottic airways, CPAP, and capnography.
- Trauma (7-11%) — bleeding control and tourniquets, shock recognition, chest and head injury, and burns.
- EMS Operations (6-10%) — scene safety, START triage, hazmat, ambulance operations, and legal/ethical basics.
How to use it in your final week
- Front-load Clinical Judgment and Medical/OB-GYN — together they are over half the exam, so mastering those two sections of the sheet earns the most points.
- Memorize the scope line cold: the AEMT adds IV/IO access, IV fluids, supraglottic airways, and a short drug list to the EMT — but never intubates, reads rhythms, or manually defibrillates.
- Read the sheet the morning of the exam for a final pass on the numbers — CPR 100-120/min and at least 2 inches deep, EtCO2 35-45 mmHg, SpO2 target 94%, and the AEMT drug doses.
- Don't cram in isolation — pair each review pass with timed scenario questions so the recognize-cue-to-action flow the exam rewards stays automatic.
The cheat sheet is your review layer — your AEMT practice test drives the exam-readiness ring at the top of this page. Download it, review, then take a full practice exam (or drill with the study guide and flashcards) to see where you stand.
